Katharine Birbalsingh

First questions : Katharine Birbalsingh believes that there is a problem with UK's education system. Can you identify it within the first three minutes of the video? What is the problem?

_ Katharine Birbalsingh thinks that the system is broken because, like she says, " he keeps poor children poor". She thinks that the responsability isn't respected. Students must be responsable for themself : they must go to the exam.. And punishment, exclusion isn't a solution because it's an excuse for student to not go at school.

Second question : Why does this problem exist according to this teacher? (from 3 min to 4 min 26 sec)
 - Katharine Birbalsingh thinks that nobody respect this system, and system's obligations. People find an excuse about school, and education system.

Third question :What do the government ministers think about this problem? Who is to blame for the condition? (from 4 min 30 till about 6 min)
- The governet ministers is agree with Katharine Birbalsingh. According to him, we did try to support teachers because teachers are very infair.

Fourth question :  Which suggestions does Katharine make to improve the system? (6-7 min)
- The idea is being students responsable for what they do, required exclusions ...

Fifth question:  Which changes would Katharine make in the education system if she were given a choice? (till the end of the video)

- If she were given a choice, Katharine Birbalsingh do more and more power for teachers.

My opinion :

I think that there isn't a big problem in the french system of education. But there is some problems who can be avoided. In effect, since this year the school transport (bus) is paying who can be a very big problem for poor family.
In addition, there are more and more violence at school, regulations of the account between several students, between parents and teachers for reasons of punishement, of dispute about results, or work also. So, to avoid it, I think that w should be in place a security at the enter at school, with security gates or policemen.
Moreover, we say that education is accessible for all, but I think that no. In effect, it's true that school is free for all, but when you are in university ( who is away from your parent), you do have a studio, you do pay for groceries, books to buy for school, pay transport subscription, and it's represent a big cost.

Mr Bean writing an exam

At the beggining of the video, we can see Mr Bean who go to school in car, pressed behind a car who moving slowly.
When he is in the classroom, next to an other pupil, Mr Bean find to copy other pupil's actions : take pencil, material that he needs during examination.
Before that the exam starting, Mr Bean and the other man talk about their revisions and exam's subject : functions or trigonometry ? Mr Bean is confident, he thinks that it's on trigonometry because the last year, it was on functions. But he is wrong, when Mr Bean sees the subjetc of this exam, he is surprised, anxious, panicated.
See his neighbor of classroom pass this examination, give an idea to Mr Bean : copy him. The problem is that he isn't discreet so the other man hides their answers. After that,
Mr Bean cries, says "Mummy" because he is desperate to not pass the examination.
At the end of examination, the supervisor announces that it was two subjects : functions and trigonometry ( Mr Bean hadn't seen the last topic). So, he is excited, he tries to do examinations but he doesn't have time. It's the end of examination.

My reaction when I have an exam :

When I have an examination, I try to good prepare myself and I try to good learn all my lessons.
At the beginning of the exam, I try to don't panic, to think positiveFace to my examination's paper, I read instructions completely and calmly for don't rush me and do mistakes (that I could have avoided). I answer at questions thinking, and from time to time, I look all the classroom for see if people pass this exam. After the examination, I try to don't think the exam, to don't talk about it, and especially to don't see answers of questions for not stress.

Introduce yourself ?

Start by the beginning..

My parents gave me the name " Mélissa" at birth, in 14november.

Maybe they gave me this name for songs who talk about a Melissa's girl, like Minikeum's song Here: " Mélissa, non ne pleure pas.. "

Or this song of Julien Clerc Here : " Mélissa, métisse d'Ibiza vit toujours dévêtue, dites jamais que je vous ai dit ça ou Mélissa me tue.."

I have two brothers, one who works, and one little brother who is in 5th. Me ? I study linguistics for the first year, in university of Stendhal :

My life is a normal life, with my family, friends.
They are lots of importance for me because they are always here when I need them.
